Elizabeth N. Collins serves as Laboratory Manager and Senior Research Specialist for Akerman Laboratories. She provides technical, operational, and compliance leadership across the laboratory’s research programs. Elizabeth oversees day-to-day laboratory operations, quality assurance, safety compliance, animal study coordination, equipment maintenance, supply management, and technical training. She also serves as the laboratory animal coordinator and safety compliance officer, helping maintain an organized, compliant, and audit-ready research environment. Her technical expertise includes animal surgery, targeted electroporation, tissue harvesting, microscopy preparation, flow cytometry, biochemical analysis, cell culture, transfection workflows, and biorepository management. Elizabeth is experienced in advanced analytical platforms including droplet digital PCR, capillary electrophoresis, multiplex suspension arrays, size-exclusion chromatography, and tunable resistive pulse sensing. She also supports data analysis and quality control using SAS, Python, and machine learning–based approaches. Through her combined expertise in operations, compliance, experimentation, and data analysis, Elizabeth plays a central role in maintaining the rigor, safety, and productivity of the laboratory.
